Planes of Fame

Well, only one for now. We'll have to catch more soon. It is so awesome to see the vintage planes flying over us on a regular basis. They have a great rumble, and sometimes there are some very cool jets as well.

Here is what Uncle Bob says about this plane:
You picked a great airplane: that's a U.S. Air Force C-47 transport,
affectionately known as the " Gooney Bird". Built by Douglas Aircraft
( civilian designation DC-3}

in the mid-1930s. It served in the Air Force longer than any other
aircraft in history. You picked a keeper!

Actually it's not a C-47. See this link.

Thanks, Gar. The link is cut off, but I googled c53 and found it easily, to cut and paste, add this:"per.htm" to complete the address, so now it will say, "skytrooper.htm" at the end
